You will need to let your hair grow for at least two weeks if you've shaved in order to get a good wax. The length should be about a half an inch long. The longer ther better. If the hair is too short it will be difficult to pull from the root/follicle. When the hair is successfully removed from the follicle the results will last longer. Waiting an extra couple of days will definitely be worth it!
NO. The longer the better. The longer the hair, the more the wax will adhere, the smoother your skin will be, an the results will last longer. If your hair needs to be trimmed your esthetician will take care of it as she know the best length for the procedure.
I'm not going to sugarcoat it. You will experience some discomfort, but the first time is going to hurt more than any other time. Your nerves are on edge and you don't know what to expect. Honestly, most people say that the anticipation is much worse than the actual removal! You will experience a quick, temporary sting that stops hurting right away. After your second and third visit, you will be much more comfortable, there won't be as much hair to remove and your skin will be less sensitive. I recommend taking a couple of extra strength pain relievers before your appointment. There are also topical ointments like No Scream Cream and PFB VAnish's Numb-IT.
The "Southern Belle" Bikini Wax - A basic bikini wax that removes hair just outside the panty line.
The "Vixen" Bikini Wax - A deep bikini wax that goes about three fingers in from the crease of the thigh. The backside can be added if desired.
The "Hello Kitty" Brazilian Wax - The brazilian wax goes completely bare, removing everything from the labia and the backside. You can choose to leave a landing strip or triangle.
This is a great question. You should NOT wax if you are using prescription such as Accutane, Retin A, Differin or antibiotics. These types of medication thin out the skin and may cause peeling blistering if waxed. It's best to wait 30-45 days after stopping the use of these products before you decide to get waxed. If you are not sure about potential reactions to waxing, consult with your physician and be sure to share any recent use with your esthetician before your treatment.
In the beginning you can expect results to last 2-3 weeks. As you continue to wax the hair will grow in slower and slower. Most clients come in once a month for bikini waxing. Client who have been waxing for a while can stretch it out to 5-6 weeks. It will take some time of consistent waxing to get to that point. It's recommended that you don't shave between waxing treatments to avoid ingrown and skin irritation.
The best line of defense for ingrowns is a good exfoliating serum. PFB Vanish is great for eliminating ingrown hairs and reducing inflammation. There is also the new PFB with Chromabrite that addresses stubborn hyperpigmentation that can be left behind by ingrowns and shaving. Find it in the online store or ask your esthetician about it.
Yes. You may be a little more sensitive than usual, but mommies-to-be come in for what we call the "Delivery Wax" up to a week before their due date.
Yes, If you are waxing for the first time for an event or special occasion, we strongly recomment scheduling the same service 2-3 weeks PRIOR to make sure you have no adverse reaction on the big day!
